How do we unleash that passion in the player that, um, only an interactive experience can. Um, that - that sense that they’ve been empowered, that they’ve been tested, um, that they’ve - that they’ve tried and failed and then they’ve succeeded - that sense of epiphany that happens. Um, you know, I don’t have a golden, you know, rule for that. There’s no - there is no golden rule, um, but one thing I do know is that, um, games that allow people to find something within themselves that - that - that may have already been there that they might have known about or - or didn’t know quite. If - if - if it can unleash something and if it can do it in a community - if it can allow them to connect with other people, uh, it can create experiences that will stay with them, uh, forever. I’m thinking specifically, right now, of a game that we made for college freshman coming into the School of Cinematic Arts. And this was a game made specifically for those students and the experience that they were going to have. They’re coming from all parts of the country. They’re young people, 18; some have never been away from home. And we made a game for them that tapped into what they wanted most which was to fit into this, uh, sort of storied history of the school that they were going to attend and become part of that history; become part of that community, and to show themselves cr - as creatives, uh, present themselves. And because the game allowed them to do that, um, they would do things like, you know, they wear tattoos of the game logo all over themselves. They, to this day, they’ll tell me it was a life changing experience for them. Um, and they have been in - in charge of running the same experience for, uh, years of players after them. Because they - it was such an important moment in their, uh, growth, in their - in their lives, uh, that they couldn’t do without it, right? So, I don’t know the - the - the one answer but I - but I do know that when you sit down to design a game you have to put yourself in the heart and the mind of the player and look for that thing they want the most.
