Design is still critical in a lot of ways, uh, but you sort of have to pay attention to the device you’re making the game for and, and the people who are playing it. And, so, people tend not to play, uh, games for four hours at a time on a tablet or a smartphone. Uh, they, they are playing while they’re on the run or they’re in between meetings or something. And, uh, you know, five minute snack like chunks of time are, are what they have. And, so, you, you, uh, redesign your game so that it can be played. It can still be a very deep game, but, uh, but you may have a mission that may last only five minutes instead of one hour. Uh, and, so, uh, the designers really have to relearn how to make these kinds of games, which were much more like the old arcade games that they started out with. And, uh, and, and it’s no surprise that some of these say arcade designers are the ones that are successfully doing this. Uh, and I think, uh, you, you also have to design a game so that it can be monetized. Um, uh, you, uh, paid games are very tiny percentage of the market now. Uh, in fact, it’s such a tiny percent of the market that, uh, the average price for games on android right now is six cents, uh, because there’s so much free to play, uh, out there. Uh, and the free to play games, uh, uh, are very different in their design. Uh, you have to design in for show of goods. You have to design in things that people may want to buy like, uh, decorations for their, their shotgun or something. Uh, and, uh, uh, these, these kinds of things are, are the way that you make money, uh, with a mobile game. If you don’t make money, you’re not going to be able to design your next masterpiece. Uh, and, so, you have to pay attention, uh, to, uh, uh, the way that consumers consume on these new kinds of devices.
